Sundays - Catechism at 10, Worship at 11am
Wednesdays - Choir at 5:30, Bible Study at 6:30pm
I will sing to the Lord, because he has dealt bountifully with me. (Ps 13:6)
One hour before worship, all ages gather in the Fellowship Hall for food, fellowship, and a brief study of the catechism.
We follow a simple, historic liturgy featuring confession of sin, singing, reading, a sermon and prayer. We sing from the hymnal and read scripture following the traditional one-year lectionary. Every week, we also sing a metrical psalm, and our choir sings an anthem during the offering. The sermon is about 20 minutes, and the service is about an hour.
Once a month, we observe the Lord's Supper using home-baked sourdough and alcohol-removed wine. Communciants take turns kneeling (as able) using chancel kneelers. This sacrament is for repentant, evangelical believers who have received the rites of Baptism and Confirmation. If you are visiting, please speak with the pastor before participating.
Children at Lane's are not dismissed to children's church or asked to come forward for a children's sermon. We think healthy families worship together, and we don't mind a little restlessness or noise. If you do need to step out during the sermon, you are welcome to use the nursery. It is fully stocked with toys and features a live audio feed of the service so you won't miss a thing.
